All awards and recognition were selected by the improv troupes
in South Florida with each troupe having one vote. To have a vote,
the troupe must have had at least 5 professional performances
in South Florida during 2004. Troupes can designate one category
that they feel most represents them and that they will abstain
from voting in. This means that all the other troupes will be
eligible to vote for them, but no troupe can vote for themselves.
The event is seen as a way to help
promote excellence in craft and to celebrate the different approaches
and uniqueness of the different troupes in South Florida.
By having no troupe vote for themselves, there should be a real
sense of only saying positive things about one another. And the
troupes do have positive things to say about one another. Now
there is a way to get the recognition that is deserved.
