Improv Miami Prizes or "Impy's"

The Fifth Annual Impy Awards, the Improv Miami Prizes 2008, were held in December in South Florida, and awarded South Florida troupes for excellence in improv and recognize contributions to the world of improvisation in other media.

This marks the fith time such an event provided recognition to an artform that has been often ignored by other organizations recognizing excellence in the arts.

In December of 2008, the Improv Miami Prizes proudly announced the winners of the Fifth Annual Impy's, or The Improv Miami Prizes 2008.

The winners of the Impys were:

In addition to these Impys, ImprovMiami.com had competition in additional categories to receive recognition for excellence and contribution to improvisation as an art form. This is more than a focus on performance, but on their impact on the general public understanding improvisation as an art form.
