Aventura, Florida, April 15, 2005 - ImprovMiami.com, a
guide for South Florida improvisational theatre, announced
the pre-planning of their Second Annual Impy Awards, the
Improv Miami Prizes 2005.
The First Annual Impy Awards, the Improv Miami Prizes 2004, were
held at the Shores Performing Arts Theater on December 4th and
awarded South Florida troupes for excellence in improv and recognized
contributions to the world of improvisation in other media. This
marked the first time such an event provided recognition in an
artform that has been often ignored by other organizations recognizing
excellence in the arts. However, it will not be the last!
The Improv Miami Prizes proudly announces the beginning of an
era with the planning of the Second Annual Impy's, or The Improv
Miami Prizes 2005. A venue is currently being lined up, along
with sponsors, guest performances and reviewing of material from
some of South Florida's best improv performers.
Last year's event, sponsored by Miller Brewing, Gold Coast Beverage,
Social Miami and Telcom.net,
was an exciting evening with performances from some of the best
troupes South Florida has to offer, with guests from other troupes
making appearances as well.
This year looks to expand on this and be even more exciting, making
this the "don't miss" event of the season!
If you would like to inquire about volunteering to help the event,
have suggestions regarding nominations in the film or television
categories or want to learn more about becoming a sponsor, please
contact us at web@improvmiami.com to learn more.
