Aventura, Florida, November 15, 2005 - ImprovMiami.com,
a guide for South Florida improvisational theatre, announced
the non-troupe nominees for the Second Annual Impy Awards,
the Improv Miami Prizes 2005.
Nominees for recognition include the categories of Best Improvised
TV Show, Best Improvised Film, Best Sketch TV Show, and Best Stand-up
Venue.
The nominees for Best Improvised TV Show are
for the best television show whose material is primarily improvised.
The voting criteria are the best shows for performance and their
positive impact on the public acceptance of improv as an artform.
The nominees are A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T.: Improv (Bravo TV), Nick
Cannon Presents Wild'n Out (MTV), Reno 911 (Comedy
Central), Unscripted (HBO), and World Cup Comedy
(PAX TV).
The nominees for Best Improvised Film
includes feature films with largely improvised, or improvisationally
created, dialogue. The nominees are Blackballed: The Bobby
Dukes Story, Blue in Green, Jiminy Glick in Lalawood,
Last Days, Return of the Jackalope and YesAnd!
The Best Sketch Comedy TV Show nominees are Blue Collar TV,
Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show, The Lance
Krall Show, MadTV, and Saturday Night Live.
The Best Stand-Up Venue nominees are
The Miami Improv, The Seminole Paradise Improv,
The Palm Beach Improv, and The New York Comedy Club.
