Aventura, Florida, October 14, 2004 - ImprovMiami.com,
a guide for South Florida improvisational theatre, announces
the nominations for The Improv Miami Prizes 2004, or "Impys".
The Impys are dedicated to the promotion of the improvisational
art form and to recognize excellence both on and off stage. The
event, to be held in early December, will include almost all of
the troupes in South Florida for an evening that will raise the
standards of improv and have the audiences roaring with laughter
as only an improvised award show could.
Nominations are in the categories of Best Short-Form, Best
Long-Form, Best Extreme, and Best Sketch. Only
troupes that have performed at least five times in South Florida
during 2004 are eligible and nominations are limited to 3 per
category. Voting will commence on November 12th and each
troupe involved in the event will have one vote per category,
but may not vote for themselves.
Additional categories for Best Stand-Up Venue, Best
Television Improv, and Best Improv Movie and will be
announced on October 25th.
